On Saturday, 27 December 2025, at around 3:30 P.M., three settlers riding an ATV raided the residential compound of the Khirbet al-Malih community and tried to break into the stone house of Burhan Daraghmeh, 55, and his family in the center of the community. The settlers swore at the family members who came out to defend their property and demanded that one of them hand over a coat he was wearing, claiming it belonged to the Israeli military. When the family members tried to prevent them from bursting into their home, a clash broke out, during which the settlers hit Burhan in the face with a wooden plank, pushed his wife, Ibtisam, and knocked her to the ground, and hit one of his daughters in the back. During the confrontation, Burhan’s son Suhaib, 23, who rushed to help his family members, was injured in his hand, and one of the settlers was hurt in the face and bled from his nose.
Many more settlers arrived, among them Shai Eigner, Northern Lands Coordinator at the local settler regional council, along with military and police forces. The settlers and soldiers gathered all the family members and made them sit on the ground outside the house. They then burst into the home of their neighbor, ‘Abd a-Rahman Khalil, 72, about 200 meters away, where Suhaib had fled after the confrontation. They ransacked the house, spilled water from the tanks, then punched and kicked Suhaib and arrested him.
The soldiers also arrested Burhan Daraghmeh and his wives, Nuha and Ibtisam, and took them together with Suhaib to a nearby base, where they had them sit outside in the rain, handcuffed and blindfolded. The four were held there until around 1:00 A.M., when Burhan, Nuha and Ibtisam were driven to the entrance to the town of ‘Ein al-Beida, located nearly ten kilometers away from their home, where they were released. Relatives came and drove them back to the community. Suhaib Daraghmeh was charged with assaulting a settler and taken to the Ma'ale Adumim police station. He was kept there for three days and released after posting bail of 4,000 NIS (~ 1,300 USD).
