On Friday morning, 10 January 2025, Sultan Suaftah, 72, a resident of the village of Bardalah, arrived at the olive grove he planted more than a decade ago on his land spanning about 50 dunams (1 dunam = 0.1 hectares) in the agricultural area of the Qa‘un Plain, north of the village. He discovered that settlers had cut through the wire fence protecting the grove and let their herd of cattle graze inside it. The cattle destroyed at least 50 trees and caused damage to additional trees and to the irrigation system.
While Suaftah was inspecting the damage to his olive trees, soldiers arrived and expelled him from his land, claiming he was not allowed to remain near the outpost.
