7 April 2025
On Sunday, 6 April 2025, a settler drove an excavator into the al-Maruj area, south of the village of Saffa, Ramallah District, which is home to three families belonging to the extended Daghamin family. The families, comprising of 16 members, reside in five shacks and make their living from shepherding. They have lived in the area for decades.
The settler began clearing a road on land owned by the families, right next to their homes. He returned the following day, 7 April 2025, at around 10:00 A.M., and continued leveling the ground near families’ homes. He brought a truck filled with construction waste, which he dumped near the family’s residential shacks. He then drove the excavator toward one of the shacks in an attempt to demolish it, but was blocked by residents. The settler managed to destroy a fence about 30 meters long that surrounded one of the family’s sheep pens. He then continued leveling the ground, placed shipping containers opposite the residents’ homes, and threatened them that he would return with the military to demolish their houses.
