On Sunday, 8 December 2024, three settlers arrived at the community on ATVs, drove around the tents while playing loud music on speakers, and disturbed the residents.
In testimony given to B’Tselem field researcher ‘Aref Daraghmeh on 8 December 2024, Fawzi Daraghmeh, 52, a resident of the community, said:
For two months now, settlers have been coming to our community almost every day on ATVs, driving around our tents and livestock, shouting at us, and using loudspeakers. They disturb us and scare us. They are doing this to make us leave the community, drive us away from here, so they can establish more outposts. We don’t know what to do. Everyone here is afraid, children and adults alike. The army and the police protect them. We document them as much as we can, but it doesn’t help. The settlers have already managed to drive away several communities in the Jordan Valley, and we fear we’ll suffer the same fate.
