Civil Administration again forces families from Khirbet Humsah al-Foqa in Jordan Valley out of homes citing military training needs
3 November 2022
On Thursday, 27 October 2022, at around 9:00 A.M., Civil Administration personnel arrived at the community of Khirbet Humsah al-Foqa in the northern Jordan Valley with a military escort. The residents were forced to relocate after Israel demolished their community in July 2021. The forces handed six families with a total of 41 members, including 27 minors, orders to evacuate their homes for four days, on 1-3 November and on 9 November, between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., to make way for military training near their homes.
Military training in the communities’ territory is a deliberate harassment of their residents in an attempt to drive them out of the area. The last evacuation of community residents on the pretext of training occurred in July 2022.
The training eventually took place at a large distance from the community, and since only the men who take care of the flock remain in the community during this season, they just removed the flock from it.
