Hagai El-Ad - Executive Director, B'Tselem

Dear Friends,

I am turning to you now to ask that you renew your support for B’Tselem in 2014. Only a few short weeks of 2014 remain and time is running out. Please, follow this link to make a donation to B’Tselem. Your support will enable us to continue our mission of safeguarding human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

In 2013, you generously donated to B'Tselem. I want to take this opportunity to thank you once more for helping further our work last year.

Our dedicated staff and volunteers continue to document evidence of human rights violations, including grievous and egregious abuses in the course of this summer's Operation Protective Edge in Gaza. The concern B’Tselem voiced for the human rights of civilians under fire, Gazans and Israelis alike, made B’Tselem itself the target of attacks by extremists from within our own society. Yet even threats and violence could not deter us from carrying on with our work , and we continue to gain public recognition: B'Tselem was recently awarded the 2014 Stockholm Human Rights Award; in October, we published The Invisible Walls of Occupation, a report profiling the village of Burqah in the West Bank; in November, we launched a campaign that calls attention to the use of national parks as a tool to limit Palestinian development in Jerusalem; furthermore, we reached 120,000 social media followers with 100,000 ‘likes’ on our Facebook pages, 16,000 Twitter followers, and 5,000 subscribers to our YouTube channel to become one of the most-watched non-profit channels in Israel with over 5 million views.

The disastrous consequences of the Gaza offensive and a 5-year high in the number of administrative detainees in Israeli custody make it clear that the work of B'Tselem is more critical and urgent than ever. As a supporter, you have empowered B'Tselem to expose thousands of violations of human rights in the Occupied Territories and to demand accountability from the Israeli government. We invite you to renew your commitment to defending human rights by contributing to B’Tselem now.

Please visit our website for more information on how to donate, including tax-deductible options for US and UK citizens. And please, be as generous as you can – and don’t delay: make a donation to B’Tselem now.

Yours sincerely,
Hagai El-Ad
Executive Director
